Hello, I am Crystal.
I’m a watercolour artist, originally born and raised in Singapore, now living in the Yarra Valley just outside Melbourne, Australia, a place surrounded by nature that constantly inspires my work.
My background as a yoga teacher continues to shape everything I create. It brings mindfulness, presence, flow, and a sense of ease and joy into my art practice.
Painting brings me a kind of peace, joy, empowerment, and I’ll say it, healing.
And for the past six years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching hundreds of students both online and in person, and if there is one thing I’m most passionate about, it is helping people discover that painting can feel joyful, freeing, and far more achievable than they ever imagined.
My approach to teaching is simple: I believe art should feel accessible, not intimidating. I believe perfectionism has no place in creativity and that mistakes are simply part of the process.
Students often tell me they love my relaxed and encouraging teaching style because I have a way of taking something that feels overwhelming or complicated and breaking it down into simple, manageable steps that actually make sense.
My goal has never been to teach students to paint exactly like me. It’s to provide the structure, techniques, and guidance that allow them to find their own flow, confidence, and creative voice.
Because at the end of the day, painting is not simply about creating beautiful artwork. It’s about creating paintings that are uniquely you.
